Lesson 1: A Review of Educational Technology 1
The educational Technology 1 (ET-1) course has truly paved the way for the learner to become aware, appreciative and equipped to use educational technology tools ranging from traditional to modern educational media.

We are living in a technology word , We are lucky to have them because their make our life easier. As a learner we use technology to research our Assignments. However there are disadvantages that some students are using technology for gaming not for educational use. It explain the uses of Technology in our daily life and in using in our studies. It helps the students to be aware in using the Technology in education.
Being a educator I will help the students to remove the disadvantages of using the different kinds of technology and helps to improve the using of educational technology and promote to the students to use the educational technology in good not for bad.
Lesson 2 : An Overview: Educational Technology 2
Educational Technology 2 is concerned with “Integrating Technology into teaching and learning” Specifically this is focused on introducing , reinforcing , supplementing and extending the knowledge and skill to learners so that they can become exemplary users of educational technology. Mainly directed to student teacher , also professional teachers who may wish to update their knowledge of educational technology , this course intends to help our target learners to weave technology in teaching , with software (computer programmed learning) becoming a natural extension of their learning tools
Positive effects have been found for all major subject areas, in preschool through higher education, and for both regular education and special needs students. We all know that today is the digital era, we are expecting that learners today are more on technology rather than traditional so we need to have knowledge on integrating technology in teaching and learning process. Expose them to the new trend so they will become motivated and alive to listen. Awareness of the students to our modern technology and how it use by the students into GOOD not for WORST. This technologies are given to students to use it properly.
Lesson 3: Understanding Technology Learners
Today’s learner appear smarter , yet they can’t read as their parent’s do and they are addicted to the internet . Even in classes their concentration is questionable as they are uneasy to simply sit and listen . They become alive again through video presentations , group activities and computer classes.
Lesson 4: Bridging the Generation Gap
The older generation often feels there is a generation gap between them and the younger generation. This is apparent in simple things like the manner of dressing , socializing , more intimate relationships like friendship and marrying. There’s an issue about if technology is boon or bane but it depends on the users. If the user misuse and abuse technology therefore it is a bane but if you use it for a good purpose for example in education, definitely it s a boon. In fact technology can be useful for studying because of its convenience. Schools need to face the changes in curriculum so they need to develop teachers skillfully in terms of technology.
Lesson 5: Preferences of the Technology Generation
We future educator should use the things we have learned in this lesson for an effective outcome in the teaching-learning process. We should let students also see new levels of learning that require the appropriate use of technology which lead them to understand the lesson well. Adapting what we’ve learn is very useful in our generation.
Text vs. Visual
Our parents read book text, enrich by illustrations and photos. In order to research, they go to the school library, use the card catalogue for needed books and sign up to borrow books for home reading.
The technology or digital generation has greater affinity to visuals (photo and video) compared with texts. In fact, they have been exposed since childhood to cable television and videos images especially cartoon characters and then to compute images, in such manner and their visual fluency or abilities have sharpened and enriched.

Linear vs. Hyper Media
The past-30 year old generation obtained information in a linear, logical and sequential manner. On the positive side, this made them more logical, focused and reflective thinkers.
The new generation, however, follows a personal random access to hyperlinked digital information, less superior elders in focused and reflection. Thus, they appear to be more easily bored and distracted during class lectures.
Independent vs. Social Learners
The traditional education system gives priority to independent learning, prior to participative work.
New learners, however, are already acquainted with digital tools that adapt to both personal and participative work. They take the opportunity for dozens of instantaneous ways to communicate with others mobile calls and text, emails, Facebook, YouTube, Myspace, twitter, wikis and etc. experts describe this mode of digital learning as one that based on experimentation, discovery and intuition.

Learning to do vs. To pass the test
Old teachers teach students in order to help them pass tests and complete the course requirement.
On the other hand, the new digital learners simply wish to acquire skills, knowledge and habits as windows of opportunity afford them to learn. Our parents have completed a course and have engaged in a permanent job for most of their lives. A different work situation awaits the digital generation with contractual, multitask and multi-career opportunities in a digital world ahead of them.
Delayed rewards vs. Instant gratification
The traditional reward system in education consists in the grades, honor certificates/medals and diplomas. Including future jobs, the traditional rewards for the performance.
On the other hand. Digital learners on their own experience or more immediate gratification through immediate scores from games, enjoyable conversation from web-cam calls, excitement from email chats and inviting comments from their Facebook accounts.
Rote memory vs. Fun learning
Teachers feel too obliged to delivering content-based courses, the learning of which is measurable by standard tests.
Digital learners and not surprisingly there is much fun in the digital world outside the school

Preferences of the Technology as an instructional media was indeed a very big help in the new generation learners but we must know as a teachers what is the appropriate use of it. We must also know when and how to limit these technologies in order for us to prevent our learners to become abusive and addicted to it.
Lesson 6: Developing Basic Digital Skills
Skolution fluency
This refers to the capacity and creativity in problem solving. It tells on how we think properly to solve a problem. It requires whole brain thinking and design the appropriate solution.

Creativity fluency
Fluency (also called volubility and loquaciousness) is the property of a person or of a system that delivers information quickly and with expertise.

Digital ethics
The digital citizen is guided by principles of leadership, global responsibility, environment awareness global citizens and personal accountability.
Reflection
by developing these fluency we are now ready to face the stimulus and challenges brought by this new generation’s technology which really affect the teaching and learning process. moreover, this fluencies will make us ready to enter the new world of information and communications technology which opens the way for complex and higher cognitive skills.
application
as a future teachers we should acquire these skills for effective teaching and learning process. and also teach your student on how to acquire this fluency skills is not just for the sake of learning in order to pass the subject but learning because these skills are necessary in a digital world.

Lesson 7: Evaluation of Technology Learning
This topic talks about how we are going to evaluate or judge technology as a whole or specific. According to the topic that we had, we should have Mass Amateurization. It means that we should be also good enough for the changes that our environment has. We, as a future teacher should be good enough on the things that we must be improve. We should remember always and do not forget that the goal of this is to bridge the gap between the amateur individual to those professional ones. We should not let our student have even a single leaner to be amateur in using this technology. We should adapt to the change that is happening to our environment, this would include on how we are going to evaluate our students in doing their activity. we should remember that the evaluation we are applying to the activity that our student have done should be in line with the assessment/ activity have undergone. This evaluation should not just be good enough to make them feel the instant reward that they expecting but also should cater not just their skills but also their logical and critical thinking skills.
Reflection
Based on the experiences that I have, I realize that sometimes, no matter how tried we do, we cannot achieve something because it is beyond our hands, it beyond our capability, and beyond our reach. Sometimes, we tend to do anything in achieving these things but forget those important ones. I realized that sometimes, the things we have done for good result to chaos. As a future teacher, we should be prepare enough not just to those technology that may arise but to the effects it could have to you and to your student in the future. You need to practice in balancing everything, because based on the observations and experiences; I realized that everything should be in balance so that the learning of the student is really there. You need to be a good scriptwriter in making a story that is very comprehensive and very substantial to them that is having a smooth connection from the topic that you are discussing up to the evaluation that you are using with the aid of technology. I realized that we should be aware enough of the impacts of these to our students in the future.
Lesson 8: Higher Thinking Skills Through IT- Based Projects

The Four Types of IT-Based Projects
- Resource-based Projects
In these projects, the teacher steps out of the traditional role of being a content expert and information provider, and instead lets the students find their own facts and information. Only when necessary for the active learning process does the teacher step in to supply data or information. The general flow of events in resource-based projects are:
- The teacher determines the topic for the examination of the class (e.g. the definition of “man”)
- The teacher presents the problem to the class.
- The students find information on the problem/questions.
- Students organize their information in response to the problems/questions.
- Simple Creations
Students can also be assigned to create their software materials. Of course, there are available software materials such as Creative Writer (by Microsoft) on writing, KidWork Deluxe (by Davidson) on drawing and painting, and Media Weave (by Humanities software) on multimedia).
In developing software, creativity as an outcome should not be equated with ingenuity or high intelligence. Creating is more consonant with planning, making, assembling, designing, or building. Creativity is said to combine three kind of skills/abilities:
- Analyzing- distinguishing similarities and differences/ seeing the project as a problem to be solved.
- Synthesizing- making spontaneous connections among ideas, thus generating interesting or new ideas.
- Promoting- selling of new ideas to allow the public to test the ideas themselves.
III. Guided Hypermedia Projects
The production of self-made multimedia projects can be approached in two different ways:
- As an instructive tool, such as in the production by students of a power-point presentation of a selected topic.
- As a communication tool, such as when students do a multimedia presentation (with text, graphs, photos, audio narration, interviews, video clips, etc. To simulate a television news show.
- Web-based Projects
Students can be made to create and post webpages on a given topic. But creating webpages, even single page webpages may too sophiscated and time consuming for the average student.
It should be said, however, that posting of webpages in the internet allows the students (now the webpage creator) a wider audience. They can also be linked with other related sites in the internet. But as of now, this creativity project may be to ambitious as a tool in the teaching-learning process
REFLECTION:
We find it uncreative for a student if he/she chooses to present a project (EX: 7 Great World Wonders) in a picture with a caption below or caricatures on a social issues. But let us put in mind that creativity includes analyzing, synthesizing and promoting. It would be unfair for a student to draw the 7 wonders of the world even though he can’t draw well. I don’t think creativity is lost when we used IT in the presentation of our projects. In a project, expense and time is also manifested, but I don’t think these aspects be given more consideration knowing that in a project we measure the output or the finished product. In that, we can also assess as to how much a student have invested in his time, effort and money.
One way to measure if who among the group had given more of his talent and creativity in a project will be through a project defense. The group will be tested through questions. Of course the one who could explain well the process of the project making is the one who is knowledgeable enough to answer all the questions.
LESSON 9: Computer as Information and Communication Technology
Through computer technology, educators saw the amplification of learning along with computer literacy. Much Like reading, the modern student can now interact with computer messages; even respond to questions or to computer commands. Again like writing, the learner can form messages using computer language or program.
Some computer-assisted instruction (CAI) was introduced using the principle of individualized learning through a positive climate that includes realism and appeal with drill, exercises that uses color, music and animation. The novelty of CAI has not waned to this day especially in the basic education level as this is offered by computer-equipped private schools. But the evolving pace of innovation in today’s Information Age is so dynamic that within the first decade of the 21st century, computer technology in education has matured to transform into an educative information and communication technology (ICT) in education.
The Personal Computer (PC) as ICT
Until the nineties, it was still possible to distinguish between instructional media and the educational communication media.
Instructional media consist of audio-visual aids that served to enhanced and enrich the teaching-learning process. Examples are the blackboard, photo, film and video.
On the other hand, educational communication media comprise the media of communication. For example, the distance learning was implemented using correspondence, radio, television, or the computer satellite system.
Close to the turn of the 21st century, however, such a distinction merged owing to the advent of the microprocessor, also known as the personal computer (PC). This is due to the fact that the PC user at home, office and school has before him a tool for both audio-visual creations and media communication.
Reflection:
Using ICT now has become a lifestyle by many people. It is a part of our life today. Using of Computer now is now part of society , industry and school. In teaching ICT is very useful because of communication and information which is helpful and needed in teaching. ICT is a great source of information. ICT helps the teacher in providing information. In classroom, teacher are the provider of the information and to that we need to communicate with the students effectively. But how about if they are not in school, so ICT is very important. Teachers and students communicate by the use of ICT even though they are not seeing each other. They are able to communicate what they want to say and they can share information. ICT Has many uses, it can be for searching, we can store here as well as to communicate. The uses of computer and ICT nowadays are very essential for all, in work, business, in education etc. for the reason it can be a source for information and we can easily connect to the other people even they are in other country.
LESSON 10 The Computer as a Tutor
Reflection : The computer can be a tutor in effect relieving the teacher of many activities in her personal role as classroom tutor. it should be made clear, however that computer cannot totally replace the teacher .The computer will the guide of as to become a aware to the new generation. Today educators accept the fact that the computer has indeed succeeded in providing an individualized learning environment so difficult for a teacher handling whole classes. For the help of computer as a tutor the student will know the things that cannot know.
Usage: In the near future the computer will help a student to gather information to become a aware. Tje computer will give knowledge if you use in a right things.
LESSON 11 The Computer as the Teacher’s tool
The computer can act as a tutor particularly along a behaviorist and cognitivist approach to learning. But we also saw how certain computer software programs have been developed to fosted higher thinking skills and creativity. An information tools all of the student will have an information about the computer or activities talking about. A communication tool we be communication or collaboration to other student what teacher will discuss . A contructive tool the computer itself can be used for manipulating information visualizing one’s understanding and building knowledg. And the Co-constructive tools the st5udent will work cooperatively and construct a shared understanding of new knowledge.
Usage : the teacher will use a computer to teach a student . To give a information when doing a activities, reasearch etc.
LESSON 12 Information Technology in Support of Student- Centered Learning
Information technology in support of student centered learning the computer will help us to explore what they cannot know as a student my teacher teach as how to explore like to create a a grade in microsoft excel because in this case the student will work by their own and will can apply it to the future profession. from the tradition teacher-centered learning approaches practical helps pn designing and adapting student-learning activities shall be examined. thier student have now become active not passive learners who can interact with other learners, demostrating independence and self- awereness in the learning process.
LESSON 13 Cooperative learning with the computer
In cooperative learner we will have to respond to the situation and so cooperative learning. In cooperative learning the student will gain one knowledge to other student like collaboration learning is learning by small group of studenr who work together in a common learning task. Enhances personal and social development among students of all ages, while enchancing self-esteem and improving social relation between racially and culturally different student.
LESSON 14 Software as an Educational resource
Instructional software can be visited on the internet or can be brought from software shops or dealers. The teacher through his school should decide on the best computer based instructional school resource collection. the software computer are most likely thinking about the computer machine such as the television like monitor screen, the keyboard to type on. the computer machine or hardware is naturally an attention-getter.
LESSON 15 Understanding Hypermedia
Hypermedia provides personalized learning activities as it helps those slow and poor learners. It gives activities suited to your learning objectives and needs. It presents variety of media that will really cater those fast and slow learners. Whereas in a traditional teaching methods, the teacher would take extra time, attention and effort to help the students who are slow in understanding the lessons. With that it gives teacher a hard time to develop new strategies and objectives for both fast and slow learners. So, it is really beneficial for the teacher to use hypermedia. It is also then possible for a teacher to let his students search, explore and discover in a traditional classroom. But with that, you need to provide the student an event to apply the learning, resources and materials as well as much time since the teacher has to take into consideration each one especially the slow learners.
Usage: In my future teaching , I can let my students use the hypermedia but I will guide them and also add some information while they are using it.
LESSON 16 The Internet and Education
While the Internet does a lot for students, there are also benefits for parents and teachers. The interactive learning that the Internet provides can help students and parents with little or no English skills to learn English. Parents can become more involved in their children’s education by connecting the school with homes, libraries or other access ports.
Usage”: As a teacher we will use a internet because in a new generation the student give attention to gave more knowledge an d hep us to make it easier.
LESSON 17 Educational Technology 2 Practism
Like Ma’am Gallador give a activities she told us the hands on activities to become a aware how to use a Power point, Micro soft and excel. After to help us how todo. Maam told that we have a hand on exam. the result of it is good because some of them finish it on time
LESSON 18 Tablets for Textbooks in Schools
Today technology is being viewed as a savior. Give the fact that student are enamored by computer games whick take much of thier time at home, educators have begun to think that the computer screen can very well serveas a powerful education meduim.
Usage: in a generation the laptop, table etc. is important to education because we help us to make it easier and give another knowledge or impormation
